As long as it is sound mechanically (or we can make it that way) it can have the controls replaced and be mechanically upgraded. What I see as a veteran machine builder is many of the new capacitor machines offered today are just have a lot of extra "fluff". They have fully enclosed polycarbonate plastic shielding, along with structural shield framing, and a lot of other stuff that really add no value, just a sales pitch to fool some non-veterans. All this "See Through" Framing really makes any servicing a "Pain" that no pills or suppositories came seem to locate, and costly to install. There's a whole lot of extra metal in the new stuff, and all that extra metal takes a long time to machine to tolerance. Not only that, it costs a lot in terms of material costs & machining costs. I know some of you are convinced more is better, but the brutal truth is: it doesn't take 1700Kg of capacitor winding machine to make a 5g capacitor! Look at spacecraft & aircraft for example, extreme rigidity, light weight and simplicity matter. All it takes to make a good winding machine is a fairly lightweight, very rigid frame plus flatness and some good design engineering to produce the winding assembly perpendicular to the frame and all else parallel. Spending some extra time in the design of a winder retrofit yields simplicity and saves a lot of money. That's the bottom line KR International has to offer, no "fluff" involved.
